Amani is an international affairs and communication professional with over 10 years’ experience. He holds a Master in International Security and Diplomacy from the Paris School of International Affairs at the Institut d'études politiques de Paris (SciencesPo). From 2011 - 2013, he attended a Post-graduate diploma programme in Management of Foreign Relations from the Mozambique - Tanzania Centre for Foreign Relations (CFR). He also holds a BA in Mass Communication from St. Augustine University of Tanzania (2011). Before joining CIP, Amani was Communications Officer at the President’s Office – Institute of African Leadership for Sustainable Development (UONGOZI Institute).

As a youth advocate, Amani has served in various capacities such as Tanzanian delegate at the Regional Consultative Meetings of African Youth Leaders by invitation of the Pan-African Youth Union (PYU) in Kinshasa – Democratic Republic of Congo, in December 2018; Speaker at the Youth Ambassadors Dialogue on ‘Harnessing Young Peoples Participation in the Political Process’, organized by the East African Community in Arusha – Tanzania, November 2018; and Tanzanian delegate to the Pan-African Youth Forum in N'Djaména, Chad in June 2017 that discussed ‘Harnessing the Demographic Divided through investments in Youth’ organized by the PYU and African Union, which saw the forum’s deliberations such as the operation of the ‘African Youth Development Fund’ be officially adopted by the African Union 29th Heads of State Summit of July 2017 in Addis Ababa. Specifically, he took part in the Peace, Security and Migration committee of the forum.

In recognition and awards, Amani is a recipient of the 2017/2018 ‘Campus France’ French Government Scholarship Award, granted by the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs; a 2016 Global Leader at the Next Generation of Global Leaders ‘Ship for World Youth’ Programme, organized by the Cabinet Office, Government of Japan, which took place in Japan, India and Sri Lanka; and a 2015 Leadership Fellow at the Young Leaders Forum (YLF) organized by Friedrich Ebert Stiftung (FES), Tanzania.

He has also attended key forums such as ‘Youth and Leadership at the global stage’ lecture by H.E. Justin Trudeau, Prime Minister of Canada, held at SciencesPo Paris, April 2018; ‘Between War and Peace in Korea: Prospects for Inter-Korean Relations’ by Dr Moon Chung-in, Special Advisor to the President of South Korea, held at SciencesPo Paris, January 2018; ‘The role of France in promoting International Peace and Security’ inaugural lecture by H.E. Jean-Yves Le Drian, French Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs, held at SciencesPo Paris, September 2017; and the African Leadership Forum’s from 2015 to 2017 hosted by former President Benjamin Mkapa of Tanzania.

Amani is fluent in English and Swahili and speaks basic French.
